Cub Scouts from Upper Providence Pack 531 visited the Oaks Fire Company for their monthly meeting and a fire safety lecture / demonstration. Approximately 50 Scouts, along with their parents, learned about fire science, smoke detectors, escape plans and very important fire safety tips. The real highlight of the evening was a special “guest” speaker…one of Pack 531’s Wolf Cubs who was injured in a fire last summer. The scouts listened intently as he explained what happened to him, and it really made a difference hearing about the potential consequences of fire from someone in their own age group. The night wrapped up with a quick tour of our fire apparatus, which everyone seemed to enjoy.
